Whatever your skills may be, there are lots of ways to help the Weyburn Humane Society!
You can join us at our Annual General Meeting held each January where we elect a Board of Directors. Contact us to notify our Nominating Committee if you are interested in becoming a valuable asset to our team! Membership is required to sit on the Board of Directors. We have a small paid staff that only offers part time hours. We may not be hiring at this time, but you can send us your resume and fill out a job application found here.
We have various volunteer opportunities happening throughout the year. If you or anyone you know is interested in getting involved with the Humane Society please fill out this form for us to review. Thank you!
The Weyburn Humane Society is always looking for individuals to help us with our fundraising events. For most events we require you to be 18 years or older. We ask that you fill out our Volunteer Form, indicating what things you are interested in helping with. As well we require important information such as your emergency contact person and their information, your phone number, email and postal address so we can contact you.
Sometimes we do involve teenagers to help us with some events but they would have to provide written permission from their legal parent or guardian. These type of events might include setting up and taking down tables and items for our huge garage sale; fair grounds cleanup or recycling sorting to take to Sarcan for refund.
Some events we require help with are smaller ones such as our Bake Sales, BBQ lunches and Canteens. Bigger events that need many helping hands are our Garage Sales, our Comedy Dinner Event and our Golf Tournament. If you have some time and want to help make a difference in the lives of our animals please consider joining us!
We also offer Wedding services of chauffeuring and bartending which is becoming a popular fundraiser for us. There are always new ideas we present to the public to generate some much needed income for our shelter. Access our form HERE.
Third Party Fundraising
Often Businesses or individuals wish to do something on their own to raise funds for the Humane Society. We appreciate every opportunity to help with these projects whether they are a children’s lemonade stand or a business hosting an event. We do however require you to notify us that you are fundraising on our behalf and fill out what is called a 3rd party Contract. (access the Form HERE)
Once we receive your application, we will review it and upon approval, give you the go ahead to commence your fundraiser. We will issue you a letter of endorsement and help to advertise the event.
This contract is legal and binding. We hate to admit it but there are some unscrupulous people who in past instances have taken advantage of the public’s generosity where we never received the donated funds. By registering your fundraiser and getting approval from our organization it protects everyone.
